Jackson airport to pay Grand Teton more

Jackson Hole Airport has agreed to boost the amount of revenue it gives to Grand Teton National Park.

Terms of a tentative agreement will hike the percentage of the airport’s operating receipts that go to Grand Teton.

Airport assistant director Jeanne Kirkpatrick tells the Jackson Hole News & Guide (http://bit.ly/PEFdPs ) that the airport has been paying between $90,000 to $95,000 a year to the park.

Under the agreement, Kirkpatrick says the airport will pay about $200,000.

The airport is the only airport in the United States located inside a national park.

The Jackson Hole Airport Board approved the rate increase, but how the money will be spent will be determined by an agreement that the airport and park expect to complete in coming months.
