Pizza sales rise before Thanksgiving

Hosting a Thanksgiving feast can be tiring and a lot of people want to get out of the kitchen the night before.

It seems a lot of people around Idaho Falls were ready to put their turkey basters away on Wednesday night, so they stopped by pizza places to pick up a quick pie.

That was the case at Papa Murphy’s tonight, where they had the entire crew on hand to cater to a steady stream of customers right around 5 p.m.

“People were ready to go home, but all of the sudden we just got this huge rush. Now we have to start over before we can send anyone home. We have to finish our chores and stuff,” said Jenasee Sexton.

Papa Murphy’s closed for the holiday three hours early Wednesday night.

Pizza Hut employees said they saw a boost in pizza orders as well.
