E. Idaho police tracking leads in triple slaying

An eastern Idaho sheriff investigating the shooting deaths of two men and a woman at a residence says names found in records associated with a dog fighting business and a marijuana grow operation at the property could be helpful.

Oneida County Sheriff Jeff Semrad says robbery does not appear to be a motive in the slayings of 61-year-old Brent L. Christensen, 32-year-old Trent Jon Christensen and 27-year-old Yavette Chivon Carter.

He says cash and $95,000 in marijuana plants were in the house where the bodies were found Friday. An infant and a 2-year-old were unharmed.

The sheriff says 64 pit bulls at the property were used for fighting. Those pit bulls will be taken to the Humane Society on Monday, where they will be checked by vets before anyone can attempt to adopt them.
