Idaho Falls man arrested in burglary
When Bonneville County homeowner James Moore woke up to investigate a noise in his kitchen, he did not expect to find a man rummaging through his refrigerator.
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office said Moore woke up at around 3:15 a.m. Monday and noticed some outside lights had been turned on. He heard a noise in the kitchen and when he checked in, he could see a man looking in the refrigerator. And he noticed the microwave was running.
Moore backed out and returned to his bedroom, where he retrieved a pistol, asked his wife to call police and locked the bedroom door.
When deputies arrived at the 4000 block East Sagewood Drive, they found Moore holding 19-year-old Colton Miller of Idaho Falls at gunpoint. Miller was kneeling on the floor.
Two doors had been kicked in in order to gain entry to the home, including an exterior door into the garage and a door leading into the home from the garage. A flatbed trailer, a four-wheeler and a lawn tractor were also damaged.
Miller was arrested on charges of felony burglary, malicious injury to property, and under-age alcohol consumption.
