Idaho Falls man arrested on kidnapping charge
A man police said held a woman against her will was arrested Tuesday.
The 61-year-old victim said Loyd D. Burnside, 58, her estranged husband, arrived at Walmart on Utah Avenue in Idaho Falls around 4:45 a.m. She said he sneaked up behind her, grabbed her by the throat and forced her inside his car.
Police said Burnside drove her west of Idaho Falls and held her against her will before returning her to the Walmart parking lot.
Later that morning, police arrested him at his home in Idaho Falls on charges of attempted strangulation and second-degree kidnapping.
He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
