More local art pieces on display in community

The Idaho Falls Art Council is hosting a new exhibit that features local art in the Willard Art Center.

The council is encouraging local creativity and Idaho inspired creations. Artist like Bernadette Regnier work with anything from oil paintings, photography, and printing.

“It’s really wonderful showing your art here because so many people relate to the spaces and they love the mood and the feelings you’re expressing,” said Regnier.

The arts council said local art is more than just an expression to the community. It has a mission to increase the creative presence and the arts throughout the greater Idaho Falls area.

According to Americans for the Arts, nonprofit art and culture organizations contribute to the workforce. In 2010, artist and affiliated agencies contributed 2.2 million full-time equivalent jobs.

As the arts council pushes to enrich its surrounding community, the local art exhibit will be on display until January. Admission to this event is free.
