Pocatello Zoo to get new entrance

The Pocatello City Council approved the first part of funding for the new Pocatello Zoo entrance. Zoo Director Peter Pruett said they will be building a new ticket booth and adding permanent bathrooms, both of which he said are sorely needed.

The council approved the contract, which will now open to a bidding process for a company to install the sewer lines. Pruett said he hopes the new entrance will be ready to go by the beginning of June 2015.

“The entrance really sets the tone, especially with zoos,” Pruett said. “If you’ve got a fantastic, beautiful entrance it really does set the tone for the rest of your experience.”
