Attorney general warns of Election Day scam
The Idaho Attorney General’s Office is warning people about an Election Day scam.
Someone is calling potential voters and offering to pay them $25 for their votes, according to complaints reported to the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division.
“Bribing someone for their vote is a crime,” Attorney General Lawrence Wasden said in Tuesday news release. “If anyone receives a call like this, I urge you not to engage the caller and to hang up the phone immediately.”
The caller ID for these calls is (714) 714-4000. It may not be an actual number, as the Attorney General’s Office called it, but the call did not go through.
