Painting stolen from Jackson hotel
Police in Jackson are investigating after a painting by Jackson-based artist Amy Ringholz was taken from a downtown hotel.
The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports the painting of a rabbit, titled “I’m All Ears,” was taken from the Lexington Hotel on Nov. 1. Hotel personnel reported it missing on Nov. 9.
The 3 foot tall, 1 foot wide painting hung in the hotel lobby and is worth about $6,000.
Police say security footage shows a white man in a plaid shirt loitering near the painting until front desk employees went into a back office. He then walked out the front door with the painting under his arm.
Officers have not been able to identify the man.
Ringholz draws images of bears, wolves, owls, horses and other animals with ink and paints with bold colors.
