Bonneville county rancher reports missing cattle

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office is working to rustle up some missing cattle.

Sgt. Jeff Edwards said 25 cow and calf pair of Black Angus cattle were reported missing by rancher Dexter Van Orden in the Castle Rock area.

Van Orden said his animals graze in the Horse Creek drainage to the top of the Brockman area and bear a Sunrise D brand. The cattle have white ear tags with the name Van Orden on the lower front and his phone number on the lower rear side.

Deputies said the area has been checked multiple times by airplane and on horseback. They said the missing animals may have been accidentally loaded with someone else’s herd.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Bonneville County Sheriff’s office at (208) 529-1200.
