Chubbuck mayor won’t get pay raise

Chubbuck mayor Kevin England’s pay will remain the same after City Council voted not to give him a nearly 45 percent raise Wednesday night.

Arguing that no Chubbuck mayor has received a pay increase since 2006, England initially proposed raising his pay to $65,000.

Instead, City Council voted to revisit the issue of executive pay every two years beginning in 2017.

England wasn’t at Wednesday’s meeting. Councilman Josh Ellis said England was in Boise on official business.
