Idaho Falls man charged with arson
An Idaho Falls man was arrested just after midnight Tuesday morning at a Loveland, Colorado hotel on a warrant for first degree arson.
The Bonneville County sheriff’s office said Melvin J. Savage, 40, was suspected of starting a fire at a home in the 4000 block of Cambria Drive in Idaho Falls at 1:26 a.m. Monday. The fire was quickly put out.
Savage was identified as a suspect Monday afternoon.
According to police, the owner of the house previously represented Savage’s ex-wife in divorce proceedings.
Savage was being held on $250,000 bond.
