Graphic artist wins Distinguished Student Award

Scout Invie admits she has a unique first name.

“My mom really likes the book, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” so she named me after a character in that,” Invie said.

Graphic artist, journalist, athlete and actress are all talents found in this Teton High School senior.

One place you will often find Invie is at the computer working on the layout for the school newspaper or graphics for student council.

“I just really like art a lot, and it’s really fun to see the things I create, the articles I write, the graphics I create, everything that goes into the paper, Invie said. “It’s published, and not only do the students see it, but our paper goes out to the entire community.”

Some seniors may try to coast their senior year, getting by as easy as possible, but not Invie.

“I’m doing so many college classes, it’s ridiculous,” Invie said. “I also have all my college applications to do and I’m involved in a lot of different things so it’s crazy.”

Some of those things she’s involved in are drama, cross country, and school clubs. She also tries to save a little time for fun activities.

“I like to sk,i and I like to do art, and I like to just hang out with friends,” Invie said.

Invie recommends trying to get involved in as many activities as you can without getting overwhelmed.

“You get the chance to take part in so many different experiences, and you get to meet so many different people, so it’s really beneficial, and it’s just awesome,” Invie said.
