Pocatello rejects spending $19k for new ISU paw prints

Pocatello City Council members voted overwhelmingly Thursday night against a measure that would have resulted in the city spending nearly $19,000 to repaint some ISU’s orange Bengal paw prints.

Some of the iconic prints which line the streets around campus will be covered up when the city embarks on a new seal coating project this summer.

Although the city had budgeted $18,940 to replace the covered prints, Mayor Brian Blad said ISU had offered to pay $9,000 toward the cost.
