Seasonal jobs on the rise in eastern Idaho
It’s only October, but a lot of stores are preparing for the holidays by hiring seasonal employees.
Target for example is currently looking for 40 to 50 people. Those jobs cover everything from cashier to sales floor. It’s not the only store hiring.
While the original job may be seasonal there is a chance it could become permanent.
“Looking at 2014 and 2015 just January alone,” said Will Jenson from the Research & Business Development Center. “Employment was about 3 percent higher in both of those years than it was a year prior. So if that trend keeps up, then maybe we’ll get above 3 percent of those jobs. “
It’s not guaranteed you’ll be hired permanently; it’s usually just a small number.
