Winter weather causes difficult driving conditions

“It turned into a blizzard and it was hard to see snow coming down everywhere,” said Nathan Furukawa.

Furukawa has lived in Idaho his whole life.

Every year it snows.

“It’s pretty normal but every year everyone has a hard time adjusting to the slick roads so you gotta watch out for more than just yourself,” Furukawa said.

Winter is the busiest time of the year for Classic Auto Collision Center in Idaho Falls.

“They usually have something to do with road conditions and generally speaking it’s following too close,” said Owner Brent Hoopes.

Hoopes said having a four-wheel drive vehicle does not make you invincible.

“Four-wheel drive is good traction to get you going but they don’t stop you any faster than a two-wheel drive car does. You still gotta allow the time for stopping,” said Hoopes.

Friday will be a busy day for Classic Auto Collision.

People who get in accidents usually go in to get estimates the day after the accident.
