City of Idaho Falls issues snow proclamation

The City of Idaho Falls is declaring a snow alert effective Sunday , Jan. 17. All
city residents and businesses are encouraged to move vehicles off the streets as quickly as possible.
Under City Ordinance Title 9, Chapter 5 any vehicle left on the streets in violation of the ordinance may be towed immediately and stored at the owner’s expense.
Although parking restrictions are only in effect during the times listed below, snowplow crews will remain on duty throughout the night, if necessary.
The city will issue another press release when the parking restrictions have been lifted.

Snow removal restrictions for Zones A and B are in effect as follows:
ZONE A
North-south streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday , Wednesday and Friday beginning on Monday , Jan. 18.
East-west streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Tuesday , Thursday and Saturday beginning on Tuesday , Jan. 19.

ZONE A: The area within the City of Idaho Falls, Idaho, bounded by and including the following streets: Starting at the corner of East Elva Street and North Holmes Avenue; thence running south along Holmes Avenue to East 25th Street; thence running west along East 25th Street to South Boulevard; thence running north along South Boulevard to 21st Street; thence running west along West 21st Street to Rollandet Avenue; thence running north along Rollandet to West 17th Street; thence running west along West 17th Street and Pancheri Drive to the Snake River; thence running north along the east bank of the Snake River to West Elva Street; thence along east along Elva Street to the point of beginning, excluding the Downtown Area, Daytime
Snow Removal Streets, Nighttime Snow Removal Streets, and any Arterial or Collector street within such area.

ZONE B: The entire area within the boundaries of the City, excluding Arterial or Collector streets, Daytime Snow Removal Streets, Nighttime Snow Removal Streets, the area comprising the Downtown Area and Zone A.

ZONE B
Parking restrictions will be in effect on all streets between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning on
Sunday, Jan 17 . Vehicles should be moved off the public streets as quickly as possible.

Other parking restrictions already in effect include:
DOWNTOWN
North-south streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on
Monday , Wednesday and Friday .
East-west streets: Parking restrictions will be in effect between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on
Tuesday , Thursday , and Saturday .
