Pocatello man arrested after hitting officer with a car

Pocatello Police have arrested 27-year-old John Blodgett after he intentionally hit an officer with a vehicle while attempting to elude arrest on Sunday.

The officer was approaching the parked vehicle Blodgett was in on foot. The officer identified himself to Blodgett by shouting through an open car window. At this point Blodgett quickly backed up the vehicle and hit the officer.

Blodgett then tried to drive away but hit a retaining wall. The man then fled the accident on foot but was found shortly afterwards by officers.

Blodgett was arrested for assault on an officer, eluding an officer and possession of a controlled substance.
