CAIRO (AP) — Egypt’s government says it will require public servants to have a vaccination certificate or show a weekly negative COVID-19 test before entering their workplaces. It’s the latest measure to boost the country’s vaccination rate. Officials say roughly 14% of Egypt’s more than 100 million people are fully vaccinated. The government said late Sunday the new requirements for civil servants will kick in Nov. 15. The measures will also require the public to show proof of vaccination to enter government buildings starting Dec. 1. Egypt has reported around 318,460 confirmed cases and 17,970 deaths since the start of the pandemic and has seen daily cases climb in recent weeks.
