Woman rescued from Redfish Lake hike

Custer County Search and Rescue based in Stanley, Idaho rescued a 63-year-old woman from above Redfish Lake Thursday.

Sandra Webel of Ketchum was hiking when she became ill and was unable to climb out of the mountain terrain. Alex Webel, who was hiking with her, called the Custer County Sheriff’s Office for help.

A marine deputy piloted search and rescue team members across the lake in a search and rescue jet boat. They reached the woman at about 4 p.m. Thursday. She was off the mountain by 4:49 p.m. and transported to Wood River Medical facility by private vehicle.

Deputies reported the woman was in good condition and able to move on her own.
