Big Idaho potato travels to NYC to celebrate harvest
The Idaho Potato Commission’s Big Idaho Potato Truck sailed through New York Harbor from Brooklyn last week.
The commission donated 12,000 pounds of potatoes to Manhattan’s Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen.
More than 13 billion pounds of Idaho spuds will be harvested over the next six weeks and New York will buy it’s share. The Potato Commission said New Yorkers consumer more potatoes than any other state.
