SCAM ALERT: Epi-pens for sale on Craigslist, eBay

With the recent price hike for the Epi-Pen, many people are looking for cheaper alternatives.

The Better Business Bureau is warning people about scammers trying to sell cheap Epi-Pens on Craigslist. A woman in Northern Idaho reported seeing them for sale on the website. In this scam, sometimes people sell expired Epi-Pens, which won’t be any good for the person buying it.

Better Business Bureau’s Samantha Gillihan is an Epi-Pen user, making this scam hit a little close to home “you know I looked at this and thought if it were for me I wouldn’t want to use something I wasn’t 100% sure was the the right medication right dosage I maybe spending my money on something that is absolutely useless to me or more dangerous than going without,” said Gillihan.
