Hunter accidentally shot by his mother
A hunter is recovering from injuries after he was shot by his mother Saturday.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office was called to the Pleasant Valley area at approximately 8:05 p.m.
Brant Balls, 42, was hunting moose in the area with his mother, Carol Balls, 64. According to deputies, the 25-06 rifle his mother was carrying discharged and the bullet struck her son.
An emergency call was made from a nearby camp.
Brant was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by helicopter. Balls was listed in fair condition Tuesday.
Sheriff Bart May said a number of other campers and hunters in the area had medical backgrounds, including a surgery technician, and stopped to help.
The shooting is still under investigation.
