Blackfoot voters to decide pool bond issue next May
The Blackfoot City Council has decided to move ahead with a swimming pool bond election, but has not finalized the options that will be on that ballot.
City Clerk Suzanne McNeel said the council this week outlined two basic options, based on studies conducted by Keller and Associates engineers earlier this year.
The first would leave the existing dome alone, but entirely gut and reconstruct the indoor pool. That would cost somewhere between 5 and 6 million dollars
The second option would update and maintain the current facility and cost between 3 and 4 million dollars.
The city council is still reviewing specifics of the two proposals, but plans to bring the issue to voters in May, 2017.
