Tie fire area closure is lifted
A fire area closure was lifted at noon Thursday on the Tie Canyon fire west of Victor, Idaho.
While the closure was lifted, there is still heat in the Tie Canyon drainage, as well as fire weakened trees. Visitors are being warned that those trees could fall unexpectedly. People should stay on marked trails to reduce their risk of exposure to any remaining “hot spots”.
The fire is still 100 percent contained, although smoke from the fire will be visible until the area sees significant precipitation. Three fire engines will continue to patrol and monitor any activity.
