A place of its own
The Idaho Falls Auditorium District is still in the works, but in the meantime, the new Pinecrest Event Center will be an option for event goers.
Its located at 560 E. Anderson Street next to Fred Meyers and the Dollar Tree, in the space that used to be home to Lamont’s in the Country Club Mall.
Pinecrest owner Jay and Cathy Dye said they saw a need for the venue, and prior to their new spot they were renters of a previous location on Broadway.
“We have a great relationship with a business out of Utah that helped us put it all together,” Jay Dye said.
The event center will be available for trade shows, weddings, class reunions, quinceaneras and family events.
In November, the center will house the 42nd Annual Festival of Trees and Holiday Market, the Idaho Falls Ski Sale, and in December they will have the Christmas Expo. along with the 10th Annual Policeman’s Ball.
Dye said they are already booked up for weddings throughout the entire year.
Friday will be the center’s soft open, but they’re not wasting any time. They already have the “Home Improvement and Remolding Expo,” scheduled for Friday.
The facility will be able to accommodate 2,000 people, is over 25,000 square feet, and has free available parking.
The grand opening is scheduled for November.
