Groups grant children wishes despite rainy weather
Some area groups teamed up Friday to grant wishes to a couple local kids.
It was the annual Make-A-Wish and American Family Insurance charity golf tournament. Twenty-one, four-man teams signed up to play, but of course, with the rainy weather, it was cancelled.
The event went ahead with a nice luncheon at the Elk’s Lodge. Lucy’s Pizzeria donated all the pizza. There were some nice raffle prizes given away to benefit 16-year-old Maralyn and 10-year-old Katie.
“It’s an easy job. There is nothing better than children. And to be able to reach out and give them something that possibly the family isn’t able to do,” said Julie Thomas, Regional Manager with Make-A-Wish-Idaho.
“And with American Family, our mission is to protect and restore dreams and we thought that working with Make-A-Wish would be a wonderful opportunity for us to partner with them to help these young children in their time of need,” said Russell Call, Agency Sales Manager with American Family Insurance.
Make-A-Wish Idaho granted wishes to 91 kids throughout the state last year.
Channel 3 Eyewitness News and Fox 5 were proud sponsors.
