Road Closures and Highway conditions

Idaho Transportation Department reports most highways and roads are snow covered and icy. Here’s the latest information from around the ITD:

Closures:

U.S. 26 is closed between its junction with U.S. 20 near the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) and Moreland (mileposts 272-301). The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) estimates the road will reopen as soon as 5 p.m.

Idaho 22 is closed between its junction with Idaho 33 east of Howe and Dubois (mileposts 24-68). ITD estimates the road will reopen as soon as 4:30 p.m. today, depending on weather conditions and maintenance operations.

Drifts in some places across the highways are four feet deep, requiring road graders or other heavy equipment to clear them.

Idaho 38 between Malad and Holbrook is closed

Open, but use caution

Idaho 81 between Malta and I-84 interchange is now open.

Idaho 28 is closed between Mud Lake and Leadore (mileposts 15 and 89) is now open.
