Police trace footprints in the snow to burglary suspect

An Idaho Falls man faces multiple charges after police traced footprints in the snow leading away from a stolen vehicle. Kerry R. Lunt, 37, was charged with grand theft, burglary, attempted burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia Monday. Police were called to the 300 block of Ruth Avenue for report of a stolen vehicle at about 7 a.m. A victim reported a 2009 Subaru Forester was stolen sometime during the night. Officers learned the same person who stole the Subaru also burglarized or attempted to burglarize a couple of other vehicles in the neighborhood. The Subaru was located later in the 1500 block of Kearney. Footprints found where the vehicle was stolen and where the vehicle was located matched. The footprints led to Lunt’s home. According to reports, Lunt was found to be in possession of the Subaru and other stolen items.
