Meridian firm to lead construction of new medical school

Engineered Structures, Inc. (ESI) has been named as general contractor for the proposed Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine in Meridian. The college was announced one year ago in February 2016. It is a collaborative partnership that includes Idaho State University. The privately funded school will be governed by a board of trustees consisting of local and regional physicians and healthcare executives. “It was important to us that our general contractor be an Idaho-based company,” said Dr. Robert Hasty founding dean and chief academic officer of ICOM. “We feel that this will be an extremely productive partnership and are excited to work with ESI to build a medical legacy in the region.” Although the school has not yet been accredited, classes are expected to begin in August of 2018.
