Man arrested after bringing a gun to a bar and threatening others
An Idaho Falls man was arrested for aggravated assault Tuesday night after he pointed a rifle at several people in the Roadhouse Saloon bar and grill.
Idaho Falls Police arrested 58‐year‐old Martin L. Knowles for aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a firearm after causing an incident at the Roadhouse Saloon. Knowles of Idaho Falls was also arrested for carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence and criminal trespass. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
According to the police report, officers responded to the Roadhouse Saloon, 1680 N. Lindsay Blvd., around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night for a fight in progress. When the officers arrived, they made contact with Knowles who was laying on the ground near the front door.
Witnesses told officers that Knowles had been in the bar but was asked to leave when he began an argument with another patron. Knowles left, but returned a little less than an hour later with a rifle and pointed it everyone in the bar. Some of the patrons confronted Knowles and took the rifle away from him.
Knowles was also found in possession of a handgun.
