Clouds and a few showers to kick off the work week but a powerful late spring storm will move through our area on Tuesday, which will cause lots of rain and some snow across the region. The snow threat may continue into Thursday night. By Friday afternoon, this low should have moved far enough east to end the extensive cloud cover and northerly wind.
FLOOD WARNINGS and FLOOD WATCHES remain in effect for several of our area waterways. Continue to monitor the situation if you live near a river or stream.
Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and a few thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 64°. Breezy southwest winds at 10-25mph. Tonight, mostly cloudy with a few showers possible. Lows into the upper 30’s. Winds from the southwest at 5-15mph. Tuesday, a mix of sun and clouds with widespread rain spreading across Idaho by the end of the afternoon and evening. Gusty winds up to 40mph are possible. Highs into the 50’s and low 60’s. Chance of rain 80%. Wednesday, snow likely especially during the morning with a wintry mix throughout the afternoon. Snow accumulations will be generally light with a few locations picking upwards of 2-4″ especially along the east benches of the Snake River Plain. Up to 10″ into the mountains. Highs running well below average into the 30’s and 40’s. Chance of snow 100%.
