A powerful late spring storm will move through our area late Tuesday, which will cause lots of rain and some snow across the region. The snow threat may continue into Thursday night. By Friday afternoon, this low should have moved far enough east to end the extensive cloud cover and northerly wind. FLOOD WARNINGS and FLOOD WATCHES remain in effect for several of our area waterways. Continue to monitor the situation if you live near a river or stream. Tuesday, a mix of sun and clouds and some mountain showers during the morning otherwise, expect widespread rain spreading across Idaho by the end of the afternoon and evening. Gusty winds up to 40mph are possible. Highs into the 50’s and low 60’s. Chance of rain 70%. Tuesday Night, scattered rain showers before midnight, then rain and snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Low’s into the mid 30’s. Windy, with a south wind 20 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible. Wednesday, snow likely especially during the morning with a wintry mix throughout the afternoon. Snow accumulations will be generally light with a few locations picking upwards of 2-4″ especially along the east benches of the Snake River Plain. Up to 10″ into the mountains. Highs running well below average into the 30’s and 40’s. Chance of snow 100%. Thursday, A slight chance of rain and snow showers. Partly cloudy, with a high into the mid 50’s. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
