IF police chief candidates narrowed to four

An Idaho Falls hiring committee has narrowed the list of police chief candidates to four. The four candidates are Lt. William Squires of the Idaho Falls Police Department, Houston Independent School District Chief of Police Robert Mock, Kansas City, Missouri Police Department Chief Financial Officer Mark Francisco, and Juneau, Alaska Police Chief and former Salt Lake City Police Officer Bryce Johnson. City spokesperson Kerry Hammon said the next step in the process is to bring all of the candidates to Idaho Falls for an introduction to the area. They will also undergo a second round of interviews and extensive background checks. The city still plans to hire a replacement for retiring Chief Mark McBride by late summer or early fall. The selection committee is led by Mayor Rebecca Casper and includes Councilwoman Michelle Ziel-Dingman, Bonneville County Sheriff Paul Wilde, Pocatello Police Chief Scott Marchand, Idaho Falls Fire Chief Dave Hanneman, Idaho Falls Human Resources Director Ryan Tew, and Citizen Review Committee member Ed Conn.
