Chubbuck man pleads guilty to Fort Hall shooting

A Chubbuck man pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Wednesday to one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Patrick Tyronne Mosho, 31, was charged with firing a rifle into a group of people. Acting U.S. Attorney Rafael Gonzalez said Mosho was indicted on October 27, 2015, by a federal grand jury in Pocatello. According to a plea agreement, Mosho got into a disagreement with other people at a residence on the Fort Hall reservation on October 18, 2015. Mosho left the residence and returned a short time later. Mosho got out of his car with a rifle and began shooting toward a group of people on the porch. One bullet struck a man, damaging his kidney and other organs. The victim lost one of his kidneys as a result of the shooting, according to the plea. Mosho will be sentenced before Chief U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill on August 3. The charge is punishable by up to ten years in prison, a maximum fine of $250,000 and up to 3 years of supervised release. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Fort Hall Tribal Police.
