Blackfoot man arrested after police chase

The Blackfoot Police Department arrested a 35-year-old Blackfoot man on a warrant and multiple charges Friday.

Police became aware of a U.S. Marshalls warrant for Jose Angel Lucio on Thursday and located Lucio’s vehicle with Lucio as the driver Friday.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but Lucio took off.

The chase started in the area of North Meridian, and officers were able to spike the car which slowed the speeds of the pursuit and ended on North Stout.

Lucio was taken into custody on the warrant and additional charges of trafficking in heroin, trafficking in methamphetamine, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and felony eluding.

The original warrant was for a probation violation for a firearms violation.

Lucio had more than an ounce of heroin and over one pound of methamphetamine.
