Jackson Hole lawmen to discuss immigration issues

Changes in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protocol has prompted the Teton County, Wyoming Sheriff’s Department and Jackson Police Department to call a special public meeting.

Officers met recently with the Director of the Denver Field Office of ICE. Jackson Police Lieutenant Roger Schultz said that immigration protocols had changed since they were last announced in March 2017 and it was important the community be aware and understand those changes.

Working in partnership with community groups, local law enforcement will be presenting these changes at a Community Immigration Update meeting on Thursday, October 5 at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting, hosted by St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hansen Hall, will also include a presentation by Trefonas Law, PC on preparedness planning and basic understanding of one’s rights with regard to immigration. Both presentations will be relevant to individuals and employers.
