Man runs from officials, later police find heroin in car

Pocatello Police have charged Charles Paul Carringer,26, with trafficking heroin, possession of a controlled substance, eluding an officer, and unlawful possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Police said Carringer had a small amount of methamphetamine in his possession at the time of his arrest.

A man is now in custody after police found heroin in his car.
Around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, a Pocatello police officer attempted to pull a car over.
Police said the suspect, Charles Carringer, was apart of an ongoing narcotic investigation.
Officials said Carringer refused to pull over and instead sped up and ended up crashing into another car at the intersection of Yellowstone and Alameda.
The suspect got out of his car and tried to run away.
Officers were able to arrest him near Wilson Avenue.
Officials said they found a “substantial” amount of heroin along with a handgun in Carringer’s possession.
