Wyoming high school graduation rate continues to climb

Wyoming’s high school graduation rate increased slightly to 80.2 percent last school year.

The Wyoming Department of Education says the state’s graduation rate has increased in each of the last four years.

State Superintendent Jillian Balow says the rate is an important measure of how well schools are doing.

Uinta County School District 4 posted the highest graduation rate at 98.2 percent, followed by Big Horn 3 at 98 percent, Crook 1 at 95.1 percent, Platte 2 at 95 percent, Lincoln 1 at 94.9 percent, Teton 1 at 93.5 percent, Sublette 1 at 92.3 percent and Sweetwater 2 at 92 percent.

Fremont County 21 had the worst rate at just 13 percent.

Among the biggest districts, Laramie 1 in Cheyenne recorded a 78.6 percent rate, and Natrona 1 79.3 percent.
