Windy and Snowy weather for Friday

A winter storm is moving in and will last into the weekend. Expect to see gusty winds and scattered snow showers. The main cold front will pass through on Friday, giving the Snake River Plain a chance for snow accumulations. The southern portions of the Central Mountains, especially the Sawtooths and Big and Little Wood River Regions, will see a substantial amount of snow out of this system.

Tonight: Rain/Snow showers with lows in the low 30’s.

Friday: 80% chance of snow, 1-2″ of new snowfall likely for portions of the Snake River Plain. 4-8″ of new snowfall for local mountains. Windy, with winds 15-25 mph.

Saturday: A slight chance of snow. Highs into the mid 30’s with a light breeze.

Sunday: Partly cloudy with some lingering mountain snow near the Wyoming border. Highs into the lower 30’s, staying windy.
