Possible Poplar Street closure
There may be some changes coming to Blackfoot. A portion of Poplar Street north of Oak Street to Parsons may be vacated.
The Public Works Department says that’s approximately 11-hundred feet of roadway that would be turned over to Bingham Memorial Hospital.
The hospital says traffic has increased significantly there and they want the proposed plan to improve the safety of patients and visitors. They also hope to be able to increase their number of parking stalls as well.
There has been a response from the public, some negative and some positive. It is on the agenda for the City Council meeting tonight at 7 at City Hall.
