Candidates file for statewide primary elections
Candidates interested in winning their party’s nomination for statewide office have filed petitions to appear on the May 15 primary ballot.
At the deadline Friday, here’s a list of who has filed:
Seven people will run for Governor on the Republican ticket. They include Tommy Ahlquist, Harley Delano Brown, Dalton Ben Cannady, Raul Labrador, Brad Little, Lisa Marie, and Steve Pankey. Three democrats are on the primary ballot including A.J. Balukoff, Peter Dill and Paulette Jordan. Libertarian Bev Boeck and Constitution candidate Walter Bayes are also on the ballot.
There are six republicans running for Lieutenant Governor. They are Rebeccca Arnold, Marv Hagedorn, Janice McGeachin, Bob Noninni, Kelley Packer, and Steve Yates. Two democrats will face off. They are Kristin Collum and Jim Fabe.
Two democrats will run for the nomination to District 2 Congress. They are Peter Rickards and Aaron Swisher. Incumbent republican Mike Simpson is unopposed.
Two democrats and two republicans are running for Superintendent of Public Instruction. Allen Humble and Cindy Wilson are on the democratic primary ballot. Jeff Dillon and Sherri Ybarra are on the republican ticket.
