First public underground parking garage in Idaho Falls gets topped off
The first public underground parking garage in Idaho Falls got topped off with concrete Thursday morning.
Construction crews poured the lid of the underground parking facility at the corner of Broadway and Memorial. This marks the completion of the initial stage of construction, and the beginning of the above-ground work.
“We started to pour actually at 10 a.m. this morning. Initially we had planned on an earlier start, but with the snow we got last night, by the time we got all the snow melted off the deck it was about a 10 a.m. start.,” said Dave Greer, with McAlvin Construction.
Once available in October, the facility will be home to 49 below-ground parking spaces and 24 above ground public spaces.
