Idaho Power files for rate reduction
Idaho Power Company customers could see lower rates if the utility gets its way.
Idaho Power filed its annual Fixed Cost Adjustment with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission Thursday. The filing requests a decrease of approximately $19.3 million for residential and small general service customers.
If approved as filed, an average Idaho Power residential customer using 950 kilowatt-hours of energy per month would see a monthly price decrease of about $3.60 per month beginning June1.
The cost adjustment is a mechanism used to adjust prices up or down based on changes in energy use per customer during the previous year.
The proposal is currently under review by the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. You can comment or find more information on the case here.
