Rafters rescued from swift flowing Shoshone River
Rescuers successfully retrieved two rafters who had spilled into the raging Shoshone River last weekend in northwest Wyoming.
A raft with three people on board missed the takeout spot on Saturday afternoon. One of the rafters made it to shore safely in the raft while the other two were rescued by Park County Search and Rescue and members of another rafting company.
The Cody Enterprise reports that all three rafters, including a 16-year-old boy, were wearing life jackets.
County water rescue team leader Bill Brown says the river conditions were about as dangerous as they can get, flowing at rates unseen for several years.
