* At 347 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain in
Thornton due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in
minor flooding.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Rexburg, Ashton, Lorenzo, Sugar City, Menan, Teton, Parker, Archer,
Egin, St Anthony, Chester, Ashton Reservoir, Plano, Newdale,
Thornton, northern Saint Anthony Sand Dunes and Ashton Hill.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas for Teton County in northwestern Wyoming.
* Until 130 AM MDT Tuesday.
* At 130 PM MDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in Jackson Hole was causing urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include Jackson, Moose, Moran Junction, Old Faithful, Grant Village, South Entrance, Wilson, Rafter J Ranch, Teton Village, Kelly, Moran Bay, Craig Pass, Fairy Falls, Phelps Lake, Rendezvous Peak, Lewis Lake, Kepler Cascades, Heart Lake, South Arm Of Lake Yellowstone and Leigh Lake.
Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
