Steamboat Geyser erupts 17th time in 2018

The Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park erupted for the 17th time in 2018 Friday morning.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the geyser erupted at 10:20 a.m.

Yellowstone National Park reports this is the most active year for Steamboat since 1982.

USGS said the geyser has decided to follow a semi-regular pattern of erupting every 5 days over the past two weeks.
