EISF on pace to break attendance record

The Eastern Idaho State Fair wraps up Saturday after more than a week of fun and excitement. Fair managers say it looks like it was another record breaking year.

The fair broke the attendance record last year with 239,000 people. Fair general manager Brandon Bird says going into the last day they are on pace to go even higher than that. He says it is all thanks to the about 2,000 workers and performers who make the fair great and the people who come each year.

“The fair is a magical experience,” Bird said. “This year’s theme, happy together, kind of captures that happiness that people feel when they come together with friends and family and experience everything the fair has to offer. We go big every year with everything we can provide in entertainment and this year’s free entertainment has not disappointed.”

The final big event Saturday night is the Demolition Derby at 7:30 p.m.
