Jackson Hole Chamber awards scheduled

The Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce will hosts its 53rd annual Award Celebration at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar Friday. The awards are intended to recognize chamber members who exemplify everything from employee recognition to leadership style.

“We look forward to recognizing leaders, co-workers, friends and family at this great time of the year when we can take a moment to look around and appreciate the great community we live, work and play in.” stated Anna Olson, President/CEO Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce.

Selected as the Chamber’s Citizen of the Year was Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling Superintendent Heather Overholser. Her work included managing construction of a new transfer station and composting facility.

The Chamber’s Power of Place award was revised this year to reflect the Chamber’s new branding. The “Ride for the Brand” award will be presented to former Jackson Hole Mountain Resort President Jerry Blann. He served as president from 1995 through May 2018. The Chamber said his work over those 23 years included a focus on customer service, community housing, year-round air service, and support of non-profits.

Other honors to be awarded Friday are “Rising Star” Kendra Heinbuck, executive director of Habitat for Humanity; “Green to Green” award for commitment to environmentally conscious business practices; “(Large) Business of the Year” Fine Dining, for its community involvement; and “(Small) Business of the Year Sweet Cheeks Meats, for its support of community events.
