Rigby boy struck by trucks twice in parking lot accident
A 16-year-old Rigby High School student was struck by a Ford truck driven by a 15-year-old boy at around 10:45 p.m. Thursday.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the boy was walking through a parking lot at the school on 3800 E. 300 North and was struck by the left fender and knocked to the ground. A Chevrolet truck driven by another 15-year-old boy was driving near the accident. Deputies said that driver was unaware of the accident and struck the victim again with his front tire.
The victim sustained injuries to his head and face. He was transported by helicopter to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
The sheriff’s office did not identify the boy but said he was expected to make a full recovery.
The investigation is continuing.
